It begins that international students and many tourists visits South Korea since last May. The first thing when foreigner arrives at other country is to open mobile phone number.

I am foreign student and would like to register my mobile phone i while I am staying in South Korea.

 

 

My answer is ...

 

Yes, you can use your mobile phone with prepaid usim.

 

I assume that you are not very familiar with domestic mobile plan, so I highly recommend you to ask for a favor official mobile agency, immobile. Please don't hesitate to contact me.

 

 

 

 

 

Let me explain how to open mobile account with your current mobile device.

There are [ two different ways ] to use domestic mobile plans.

Pelase follow me the below instruction, and feel free to ask me if you might have any doubt.

 

 

1. what to prepare

 

• If you are coming to Korea as a travel visa within 3 months, it is possible to open mobile account with a PASSPORT
• in the case you are staying here longer than 3 months, you should issue certificate of residence card to open it.
• Also, you will prepare the expense of usim and mobile plan as well as your passport(or residence card) and visit to the nearest center.

 

 

 

 

 

2. Registering at Center

N- telecom is runnig 100(one hundred) opening centers for the customers around whole area, so that you can visit the nearest center to open it.

As below picture, N-teltecom has 100 centers, Seoul, Incheon, Daejeon, Daegu, Busan, Gwangju and Jeju etc.

 

 

 

immobile requests the reservation to the center, so you will show the request information at the front.

 

 

 

 

We don't have any contract, so it is obviously possilbe to pay as you go while your staying here in Korea, by the way, there are too many plans to select a proper plan, and please don't hesitate to contact me.

 

For Data unlimited plan

- 396, 770 plan

 

 

Note : KT plan is daily calculation method. Let me give you an example.

• You will choose 77,000 won (10GB+2GB/day + unlimited QoS 3Mbps)
• You don't have to charge 77,000won all at once, for example, your staying is for 2(two) weeks here.
• but you can top up 30,000won( 2,566won a day, 12* 2,566won = 30,800won)
• so, you can enjoy data unlimited service with LTE speed during your stay.

 

​For Basic plan

- LTE basic 1 or 2 : 12,100won, 15,400won depedning on the data capacity

 

 

 

It's helpful to register basic plan if you would like to have a basic service.

 

​

 

N-telecom has various billing plan, it might be difficult to select which goes with you, so it's good way to have the advise from immobile agency.
